Never had to wait on the weekends, wait staff must have called in sick at the last minute, bummer!
Desire prices. Food menu was good.
Good service. Try the farmers omelette.
I was lucky to see this place from the road. It is just a little diner but the food was excellent and Jessica the waitress was one of the best. Good job!!! I would recommend this place to everyone.
A client staying at the same La Quinta we were staying overnight, recommended this place for their Chicken Fried Steak. We decided to try it, and boy was he right. It was a great little diner next to an Exxon convenience store. The CFS was very tender and full of flavor. The mac n cheese is box mac but with some salt and pepper, it was good. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and tasty. The breakfast 2x2x2x2 was great. The or chop was tender and moist and flavored perfectly.
The food was edible, Very friendly, and a little over priced! Just for two eggs nothing else, 6 dollars.
They were so worried about their masks but couldn’t wipe off the tables. The tables had no condiments on them and when asked for they never brought them out. Nothing on the toast- so dry I couldn’t swallow it and the bacon was burnt beyond eating. Waitress never came back to check on anything after the 20 minute wait to order. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Love there food reasonably priced and great service
Food was great. Green chili rocked!
Great food, only drawback was the roll was a little dry.
It's was an amazing place to eat a good meal. The country fried steak with potatoes n gravy was so amazing. You don't go away hungry that's for sure. Made me feel like I was back home n the south. The restraunt itself was a great to visit again.
Good breakfast and friendly service. It's the know the name of your server kinda place.
This is a good diner. Not excellent but good. The food is good, the place is clean, the service was excellent
Great food, reasonably priced
Wow. Did not expect such good food. No complaints. Tea and coffee right on point, pancakes golden brown and hanging off the plate, plus skillet served breakfast. Best breakfast in all Cheyenne. Negatives are that the Jack a$$ governer mark Gordon has the restaurant spacing people out and wearing mask. Happy memorial day!
Great breakfast place! Ive driven by this place many times and never thought much of it because of where it is, but don't let looks deceive you. This place has the best breakfast I've had in Cheyenne so far, and the prices are amazing too.
Clean and open floor space. Great place for a decent cup of truckstop coffee. Courteous staff. Great selection of pie.
The service is friendly the food was delicious and a lot of friendly people in the place.
Food, service & ambience did not meet our expectations. Interestingly, a waitress stood on an adjacent booth seat to close the blinds in our booth rather than simply asking if we wanted them closed in the morning. There was also only one set of silverware for a family of four so we had to ask for more after the food had been served.
Just a good ol home town dinner
Came in an hour and a half from closing. I ordered the chilli cheeseburger and it was SO GOOD. Service was good and food was ordered and served within 10 minutes. I definitely would recommend. Food was reasonably priced as well. Good, fast, affordable food!
I walked here from the Nissan Dealer while our LEAF electric vehicle was charging there and had a very nice Veggie Omelette with home fries, mini pancakes, and coffee for $11.00. The food and service both were very good. It's nicetobe able go add this as another place in Cheyenne where a vegetarian can get a good meal. I really like that they cooked everything without drowning it in oil. The home fries were unsalted so the customer can add it or not according to their own tastes. The tables have a fun assortment of condiments. The omelette was "griddle style" (rolled up / folded), cooked perfectly, veggies inside distinct, diced green chiles tasty but not overpowering. The coffee was good enough to drink black. 😀😀😀😀
The service was fine. I ordered egg whites with some vegetables since I'm trying to eat healthy. What I got was so greasy that I threw up after. as I sit here writing as I can still feel the grease in my mouth.
Country style cooking, good value. Nice alternative to the bigger truck stops.
I opted for a breakfast of pancakes and sausage since this IS a diner. My server was not unfriendly so much as she was neutral, I guess for lack of a better term. Anyway, the pancakes were average, nothing exceptional, as were the sausage links. All in all, a ho-hum experience. I left the place feeling just like I did when I walked in, except not hungry any longer.
My old man and I have been here multiple times in the past few months and their food is really good but the best thing I have tasted so far is their omelet smothered in green chilli. So wonderful. Only once did we have "poor service", our waitress just seemed very introverted and really didn't asked us much of anything, otherwise the place is awesome and the bathrooms in the c.store are clean and usually well lit.Update: Picture of my breakfast on 9/9/19
I have fond memories of this Diner. As a kid my Dad my Brother and I would take a road trip up to Montana from Colorado. This Diner was ALWAYS the first stop we made for breakfast. It's been there for years cause that was when I was about 7 or so and I'm 33 now. Friendly staff and always good food here.
Super friendly service. Pretty decent food. Good small town restaurant feel. Even in a city the size of Denver.
Amazing staff, great food, definitely going to come here again! Very responsible with social distancing and keeping customers safe.
Their food really hit the spot. Fast and courteous service, clean and quaint appearance, close to lodging. Their meatloaf dinner was excellent. Blueberry pie made the perfect dessert. Highly recommended.
Very good food and great service by Trey!!
Chicken fried really good. It was busy, but the few employees that were there kept everybody pleased. A+ to the waitresses, waiter, cooks. We really enjoyed are hot breakfast. Will definitely return.
1st time food and service was awesome Trey our server was very attentive food was hot brewed fresh coffee for hubby. We had set out for another reg spot called Perkins however we forgot about the time changed and they were packed so we went in search of food elsewhere and found the Down Home Diner. Even though it was 9:30 am they said it was no problem ordering typical lunch/dinner food we weren't in the mood for breakfast food that morning. We will be repeat customers. Great job
Small gas station diner, but good food at affordable prices. Much better value than any of the nearby chain restaurants. My new go-to restaurant when I'm going through Cheyenne and need to eat near the highway.
We had breakfast for lunch. Was very good and good value for the money😊
Friendly polite staff and great food
Great food definitely get your money's worth
Old school truck stop dinner. One of the few places you can still find an open face. Fast, friendly and in expensive.
Great food and great service!
Breakfast was excellent and service was very quick and friendly. Sourdough toast was the best.
Good food. Great price and a damn friendly staff.
Both food and service where very underwhelming. Not even average, worse than average. Our server wasn’t super friendly but she was straightforward which was nice. Home fries were unseasoned, spongy and undercooked. Chicken fried steak tasted okay, but seemed like it was just frozen and reheated quickly. Western skillet was soggy and wet, no fried or crispy aspect to it at all. No flavor whatsoever. Toast was super dry couldn’t even swallow it. Tables were dirty. We arrived hungry and eager to eat and left wishing we had never eaten in the first place. Coffee was good though. Would stop here again just to sit down for some coffee but we will never eat here again.
Very good biscuit and gravy, great service!
Good omlettes. Nice waitresses. Quick service. I enjoyed my meal here.
It's a Diner at a truck stop. A quick stop to grab a bite on the go. Not a place for people who's counting calories, or looking for great dining experience.
Great place. Lots of parking delicious large portions of food and friendly staff.
The pancakes are HUGE. we came for breakfast. Trey took good care of us
Stopped by with the family on a road trip. One of the few places open. The place was not impressive by any stretch on the inside. About what you would expect. Tables were arranged for Covid. Had to ask for utensils and no condiments on the table. Probably Covid related. The waitress was great with my kids, very helpful and accommodating.Food was typical trucker fair and hit the spot. Coffee was great and enjoyed it black. Hard to get good coffee these days. The Green chili is not worth trying. Tasted pre-made. Patty melt was excellent. Suggest sticking to items from the grill. They were all very good. Worth a stop for people who like this type of place.Reading reviews about this restaurant seems about right when looking at who wrote them. The kids were well looked after and portions were good. They liked the food. Gets 4 stars for the price! Very cheap place for a full meal. I was surprised that the bill was so low.
Good down home foid. Service was great! Stop by!
Main dishes were good, staff pleasant, the sides ... not so great.
